The southern city of Bint Jbeil continues to demonstrate “rare resilience” in the face of intense Israeli fire, as Resistance fighters remain steadfast on the battlefield, Lebanese Member of Parliament Hassan Fadlallah affirmed on Wednesday
Speaking during a press conference at the Lebanese Parliament, Fadlallah emphasized that the Resistance “does not recognize withdrawal”, noting that fighters continue to launch attacks against Israeli occupation forces from and around the city, while the Israeli military struggles to establish a foothold in frontline villages.
He added that the Israeli occupation is seeking to manufacture a “false image of victory” in Bint Jbeil to counter deeply rooted perception of its fragility, invoking the notion of the entity as a “spider’s web”. According to Fadlallah, Resistance drones and missile operations continue to inflict significant losses on Israeli forces.
On the domestic front, Fadlallah sharply criticized the Lebanese government’s performance, arguing that it has failed to match the sacrifices and choices of the Lebanese people and has instead moved toward concessions.
He questioned, “Who is the outlaw, the Resistance, or the authority that has persisted in offering concessions and extending its hand to an enemy stained with Lebanese blood?” urging the government to unite the Lebanese people in accordance with the constitution.
Fadlallah further stressed that “the image in Washington does not reflect Lebanon’s identity,” asserting that more than half of the Lebanese population rejects alignment with US positions. He called for a national referendum to determine the country’s true political direction.
The MP revealed, citing Iranian sources, that a US negotiator had referenced Lebanon’s refusal to participate in “Islamabad negotiations”, criticizing figures acting “outside the national pact” who incite division and spread misinformation regarding the battle in Bint Jbeil.
He concluded by reiterating the Resistance’s position, “We want a comprehensive ceasefire and the full implementation of the previous agreement.”
Fadlallah’s remarks come a day after Lebanese Ambassador to Washington Nada Hamadeh Mouawad met with the Israeli ambassador to the United States at the US State Department under Washington’s auspices, despite ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon.
In parallel, Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem reaffirmed the party’s rejection of direct negotiations with the Israeli occupation, describing such talks as “futile” and a form of unwarranted concession by the Lebanese authorities, amid widespread public opposition to normalization efforts.
